Beas Kund Trek has continually been a well-known trek around Manali. After all, it takes you right to the source of the Beas River that flows through Manali town

The starting point of Beas Kund Trek is Solang Nallah or Solang Valley, It is located at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India 14 km northwest of the famous city Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass, and is well-known for its summertime and winter adventure activities conditions like Skiing and Paragliding.

Itinerary

  • Day 01
    Manali to Solang Valley and Trek to Dhundi Camp
    • Altitude: 8156 ft (2486m) to 9465ft (2885m)
    • Time taken: 4-5 hrs, 6.7kms
    • Trek gradient: Moderate
    • Water sources: Carry sufficient water. You can refill your water bottles from several streams on the trail, but it could be murky

    We will start our Trek from Manali to Solang valley by car.

    Enter the Solang valley and the trail turns more lovely surrounded by mountains. Ahead it will become rocky after a 10 minutes hike passes a circulate and keep following the path. Pass-thru the cover of pines and reach a bridge connecting the Rohtang Pass Tunnel.

    Now, the Beas River is seen flowing via the boulders below, stumble upon the river, and pass it over a wooden bridge. Reach Dhundi in 10 mins. Overnight camping at Dhubdi Camp

  • Day 02
    Dhundi to Lohali Trek
    • Altitude: 9465 ft (2885m) to 10974 ft (3345m)
    • Time taken: 4 hrs, 3.5 km
    • Trek gradient: Moderate to steep ascent until the end of the trek
    • Water sources: We advise Carry 2 liters of water from Dhundhi. You can refill your water bottles from several water sources on your way

    The trek starts with a sheer climb, deeper in the valley is much Dense with Pine, Walnut and Birch. Further, cross a stream and travel with the well-marked trail.

    Ahead a bridge is visible which connects the opposite valley side. Stay in the company of the Beas River. The treeline recedes and now there are most effective sub-alpine bushes.

    Now, the entire valley opens up and Beas River is seen flowing via the boulder section with a view of an Ice Wall just above this phase.

    After entering the valley, pass the circulate and reach Lohali. It lies amid mountains and is an ideal region for camping.

  • Day 03
    Trek from Lohali to Beas Kund and return
    • Altitude: 10,974 ft (3345m) to 12,772 ft (3893m) and back
    • Time taken: 5-6 hrs, 3.2 km (to and from)
    • Trek gradient: steep ascent until the end of the summit
    • Water sources: Carry 2 liters of water from Lohali Camp. You can't refill your water bottles as there are no more water Sourse

    The path to Beas Kund is a steep one however gives extremely lovely views of mountains and the forests preserve you accompanied. After 3 hours of ascent stumble upon a meadow, it is called Lady Leg.

    If the climate is apparent you can get a clear sight of the Friendship peak. From Lady Leg head closer to the very highest point, reach there in 20 mins and get distant perspectives of the Lake.

    If the climate is obvious you can get a clear sight of Dhauladhar Range and Pin Pranjal Range. Some more Himalayan Peaks i.E. Friendship Peak, Ladakhi Peak, Hanuman Tibba, Shitidhar, Indrasen, Deo Tibba.

    Spend a very good time on the summit, retrace your steps and return to Lohali.

  • Day 04
    Lohali to Solang valley Trek and Drive to Manali
    • Altitude: 10974 ft (3345m) to 8156 ft (2486m)
    • Time taken: 5-6 hrs, 9 km
    • Trek gradient: MEasy, Moderate descent
    • Water sources: You can refill your water bottles from the river

    Today, you'll be hiking down to Solang Valley, it is an easy trek. Our cars will be ready there to take you to Manali.

Things To Take

Necessary Items for trekkers
  • Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
  • A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)
  • Sturdy Trekking Shoes
  • The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.
  • Trek Pants
  • The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.
  • Jacket
  • Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.
  • Layers of warm Clothing
  • Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.
  • Thermals
  • The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.
