Deoban, which means “God’s forest”. Deoban is a peaceful wooded area among the hills of Chakrata at an altitude of 2900 m, part of this wooded area lies in the Kansar forest range. This peaceful vicinity is undisturbed by the trekkers and not many Travelers have explored it yet.

The scenic and charming region in Chakrata, it's far a densely wooded area of oaks, pines, deodar, fir, and shrubs as not many travelers have explored this place the charisma is peaceful and the surroundings are serene.

A Forest Rest house is there from there you could get an adorable view of an attractive meadow, it is the only constructing found in that area.

The highest point of this area is Vyas Shikhar from which you get the panoramic views of Himalayan mountain ranges and the best issue in the region is not at all crowded there's a fantasy approximately this area that Vasudev wrote Mahabharata here.

In winters the trail gets covered by snow and makes it extraordinarily enthralling.

  • Day 01
    Dehradun to Lokhandi and trek to Moila Top
    • Altitude: 9186 ft (2800m)
    • Time taken: 1.5 hrs, 2 Km
    • Trek gradient: Easy
    • Water sources: Carry sufficient water.

    Our pick up point is Dehradun Railway Station and the drive is through the route of Vikasnagar. Reach Chakrata which's a lovely hill station and a well-known vacationer's spot by passing through stunning mountain roads. Have your breakfast and lunch.

    Lokhandi is a village and place to begin this trek, after a short break head towards Moila Top, a temple is located there and it gives 360-degree views of snow-covered mountains. In winters the trail stays covered in snow which makes the trek from Lokhandi to Moila Top (Budher Gufa) adventurous.

    Reach the campsite with mind boggling views and peaceful surroundings. Spend your night time right here stargazing and relishing the beauty. Have luxurious dinner and retire for the night time.

    Moila Top to Lokhandi, drive to Deoban trek to Vyas Shikhar and back to Deoban

    Leave the Moila Top’s campsite, decent, and reach Lokhandi. From there, the car will take you to Deoban. Drive through the dense forest, pass a ridge and start hiking via a rock path.

    Ahead is a Forest rest house, and the meadows considerable in front seems picture perfect. Come throughout considerable Deodar trees and an extraordinary type of rare Himalayan birds. Have your lunch in the middle of the trek and head in the direction of Vyas Shikhar the highest peak of this trek.

    On the way, you'll get extraordinary views of the Shivalik and Himalayan ranges. Reach the highest point and get macrocosmic views from there.

Things To Take

Mandatory Documents:

Necessary Items for trekkers
  • Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
  • A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)
  • Sturdy Trekking Shoes
  • The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.
  • Trek Pants
  • The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.
  • Jacket
  • Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.
  • Layers of warm Clothing
  • Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.
  • Thermals
  • The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.
